Pea in a Pod

Anyone that knows me knows that Halloween is my favorite holiday...so you can imagine how pumped I was when I learned we were pregnant & having a baby just in time for October (true story!) So I couldn't wait to dress up my little trick-or-treater. Plus it's great when they are too young to tell you "No, I am not going to wear that." We took her to see both great grandparents & then my parents. Here's our sweet little pea in a pod!

Weekend at Mimi & Papa's

Brandon had a business trip Thursday through Saturday (Halloween) & so Savannah & I packed up & went to stay with my parents (who live 12 minutes away : ) It was great having the extra help & Savannah got to experience some firsts. First trip to the mall-we ventured out to Grapevine Mills. And first trip to Canton. "A 3 week old at Canton?!" you might say. Yes, it was first Monday! It was cold, but I carried her wrapped up in the sling & she slept the whole time. I swear she was warmer than any of us. And Papa bought her her first Christmas bow. It was a great weekend & I was never lonely. Even when I would wake up to feed Savannah in the middle of the night I wasn't alone. The first night it was from 3 to 4 & Dad was already up! (He's an early bird.) And second night we were up from 2 to 3 & Corey was just getting home. (He's still a kid & so he can do that.) The pics below are Dad play the piano & singing to Savannah. She loved the Grand Torino theme song!

Big Eyed Rabbit

Every morning a little after she wakes up, I get a good 30 minutes where Savannah is super alert. She just looks all over the room with her huge eyes taking everything in.

This is the funniest pic!
Then she's out again. How sweet is that face?

Funny Bones

Isn't that the prettiest little skeleton you've ever seen?

Mr. Nanny

Adam came to stay with us for a couple of days & give me some baby relief. How wonderful! I actually had time to take a decent shower, clean up the house & cook some meals. Uncle Adam can come stay anytime!

Such a Doll!

Rolling Over at 19 Days!

For all those haters that say, "newborns don't hold their heads up"...check out our baby! She came out holding her head up & here she is at 19 days enjoying "tummy time". Today she even rolled over from tummy to back! Not even 3 weeks yet & our strong willed girl is rolling over!

Cousin Claire

My cousin Jon & his wife Erin had their first baby Claire Elise on September 10th. Claire & Savannah are the first two great-grand babies on my side of the family. We are so excited that they are both girls & less than a month apart in age! Here's dad & Aunt Becky with their granddaughters.
Claire was a lot better behaved for her picture.
My mom & dad showing off the girls to the great-grandparents.

Ten days after Savannah was born, we ventured out for dinner at Fuzzy's. She was fabulous! (She just slept the whole time.)

Our Little Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader

We had Brandon's parents, grandparents, brother Adam & his girlfriend Jenny over for Savannah's first Cowboy's game.
Uncle Adam & Jenny gave her that pink Cowboy's onesie.
Since the Boys won, she will be sporting her lucky Cowboy's gear each week!
Great grandparents Nonna & J.O.
Four generations of Shaws.
Her uncle Corey made a Cowboy's Cheerleader Build-a-Bear for her. (Yeah, we are hard-core fans!)
Yeah, that's a football bow from Holli!

Bath Time is Happy Time

"Bath Time is Happy Time" is a song my Dad used to sing to me when I was a baby & then with my brothers at bath time. Turns out that bath time was not such a happy time for Savannah. Maybe that was our fault for waking her up with a bath...oops!

Bran & I took turns at it-boy are babies slippery!
But when all was said & done, we survived the first bath & she smelled so baby sweet!!
