Winn's New House

Brandon & Danae had plans & so I took my kids to visit with Jamey & Jameson & see their new house! The wheelbarrow was maybe the highlight.

 Love these sweet cousins!

Littles

I think I took these pics when Spencer was finally well with the intentions of them being "Valentine" pics.

 Running on a cold afternoon.
They love to ride on Spencer's rocker together!

 A backyard picnic.
 With their "I voted" stickers.

Valentine's

Savannah & her little valentine, Caiden decorating cookies at Austin's Valentine Party.
Here are all the cute kiddos!
Savannah & Spencer giving the Valentine they made to Daddy.
My awesome chicken biscuit from CFA.
Valentine's Day was rough this year on our family because Spencer had an earache & we were contemplating Urgent Care for dehydration. Poor baby. But we did celebrate with some chocolate fondue after we put him to bed. But I told my valentine that I would rather spend the night taking care of sick kids with him, than at a fancy dinner with anyone else! And that is the truth.

ZZZZ....

The last time we were all able to take a nap together. I won't forget it. It was the day before Savannah's 4th bday party and we had just finished THE rainbow cake. He was so tired that he just passed out. Now he is too wild to sleep on a bed : ( Love those sleeping babies!

Savannah is in love with her nap mat from school!

Love that little booty in the air!

Spencer is One!

I can hardly believe that our little boy is one year old! And what a perfect little boy he is : ) He has had a rough ending to his first year (3 ear infections in the last two months in addition to the colds & coughs that are going around & a couple of bouts of stomach issues mostly associated to antibiotics) & yet he has been so sweet & tough through it all! One of the only bad things about a child that is so laid back & tough is that you don't know something is wrong (like an ear infection) until it is REALLY wrong. Our poor boy! So he was less himself & more of a spectator around the holidays & even his bday. I'm hoping the weather will finally warm up & that he will return to the full-of-energy boy we know & love! So I say all that to explain that being sick has affected his appetite & activity lately. When he is all well, he eats like a man & puts his sister to shame. He also grunts like a caveman constantly for his next bite & then throws his food when he's done & stands up in his highchair (so fun for Mommy right now, but we are breaking that habit). On a good morning he might eat an entire banana, a baby yogurt & a pancake. Crazy. He has been saying Mama for a while but perfected it while he was sick. That became his crutch word because he always wanted me & always wanted to be held. I won't complain because I know it won't last! His other favorite word is Hi & comes with a giant, full-arm wave. He is funny because he will lock in on someone (usually some stranger across the store) & wave them down like mad until they finally acknowledge him. He also loves to wave at Daddy when he comes home from work. Oh he loves his Daddy & especially playing rough with his Daddy! His sister continues to be his best friend. They have been having a blast playing with his new bday toys. She puts everything together, he watches & laughs, then destroys it & they both laugh. His favorite place to sneak off to play is her room because of all the fun toys & she puts her trashcan up where he can't knock it over & plays with him with all the patience & understanding in the world. They melt my heart the way they play together! He has recognized the phone & when he sees a play phone or real phone he puts it up to his ear. He has also discovered cars & likes to roll them around on the floor. I even found him on the kitchen floor this morning with a pouch of babyfood pushing it around like a car. All boy! Spencer, we are so thankful the Lord brought you into this family one year ago. You have blessed us more than we thought possible! We love you so much baby boy! (Yeah, I think I'm allowed to call you baby until you show some interest in the walking thing : ) No rush though!

#1 Heartbreaker

Since Spencer's first bday was less than a week before Valentine's, we did a heartbreaker theme. Plus, he's a heartbreaker : )

Pics of each month from his first year.
I had a sweet little boy book "I love you, Stinky Face" out for everyone to sign for him.

Valentine tattoos for the guests.
And heart cookies for the kids to decorate with lots and lots of sprinkles!

Happy birthday Spencer!

Icing in Mommy's hair!

So, he just picked at the cupcake for a while & I had full intentions of scraping half of the icing off (because it's homemade, with TONS of sugar, & I have to use twice as much to make it all twisty & pretty). But I was busy running around hostessing & when I came back he had eaten it ALL! Yikes. Not sure if it was the sugar or the ear-infection that was coming on, but poor baby threw up later : (

So much cake & icing that his pants had to be changed.

Presents!
With lots of help from Savannah.

So thankful for all the wonderful family & friends that came to celebrate!!

This birthday boy had a very busy day!
And if you were at his party & noticed that he didn't seem right or if you noticed that he wasn't smiling in many of his pics, I want to explain. His bday (besides his cupcake) started a 10 day period of not eating, ear-infection & being super sick from antibiotics. It's the sickest he's ever been, poor baby. He was so blah at one point that he just laid on the floor like this : (

I hate that that's how he felt on his bday, but that's life.  And everyone that knows him, knows that Spencer is one trooper!
