Slade Ryan

Slade was due January 1st and after weeks of contractions & false labor, we decided to induce Monday, January 4th. I had been having 6 minute contractions nightly for almost a week & that was the case when we went in the morning of the induction.
Game time!!
Once pitocin was started, the contractions jumped to less than 3 minutes apart & became very painful. I held off on the epidural because I wanted to really appreciate a needle in my back : ) And when I was ready for it, I had to wait another 30 minutes & for sure did appreciate it!! Thankfully the nurses realized he was coming fast and called Dr. Beverly Wood who hurried over. (The first time my own OB got to deliver my baby!) Labor did not take long at all! Two contractions & two pushes later & our biggest baby yet was here!! Slade Ryan was born at 1:03 pm, weighing 8 pounds 12 ounces & 20 inches long. And just like his 2 siblings before, he was completely perfect!

 Party of 5!
Savannah & Spencer did amazingly well! Savannah is a pro & was immediately in love with her newest brother. And Spencer took his sister's lead & loved Slade just as much! Neither were scared, annoyed or jealous : ) So thankful these siblings are such sweet friends.
Lots of sweet family & friends came soon to visit.

 Going home!!
We already can't remember life without this face!

The Belly

When you are pregnant and already have 2 kiddos, you don't really get to "act" or "feel" pregnant. Kids don't care if your back hurts, if you are nauseous or just plain tired. You are MOM. So if I didn't have time to think about being pregnant much this go around, I sure got to make up for it in the final couple of weeks! This guy wanted his attention too! We had so many fake-outs, so many false labors & way too many contractions! As much as I love being pregnant, I was happy to schedule an induction for the Monday after his due date. Not to mention, we were so anxious to see his sweet little face!!!

38 weeks

 40 weeks

And can I just take this moment to brag on myself a bit? Here are a couple of selfies from 7 & 7 1/2 months pregnant, right before my doctor told me no more running (apparently I had forgotten to mention I was also pushing a double-wide & she would have cut me off before had she known that : )
