Annual Egg Hunt

This was our 4th year to do a picnic & egg hunt in our backyard for Easter. This year was a little different because Savannah was at school & I focused on inviting friends for Spencer. Way more little boys. Way more jumping & kicking. Way more crazy. So fun : )
Even Little had a bucket & new onesie for the occasion.
My little boys : )

Thanks to Pops, the kids were at picnic tables this year.

13 little egg hunters.
Time for the confetti eggs!

And there is this face : )

3 Months

Sweet Slade continues to get more & more sweeter every day. He has the sweetest smile that lights up his entire face whenever he sees one of his people. And he's crazy about his people. He is the object of some pretty rough love from his siblings but seems to absolutely love every tight hug, eyeball kiss, torturously loud "I love you" directly into his ear & being drug around by whatever limb is most handy. He is crazy about his daddy & after a long day, his daddy is the only one he wants to hold him. Then there's me. I am enjoying every single second of being his most favorite because I know it won't last. He's at that phase where he just wants to see me. He follows me everywhere with his eyes & doesn't seem to blink. Besides being very visual, he's doing more than just cooing now, babbling, I say. He babbles a lot & loves to hear the sound of his voice. He started sticking his cute, tiny tongue out last week & has been making some funny faces. He also discovered his feet & will grab them if he's in a position to reach them. He continues to be a great eater & sleeper. He's overcome his fussy evenings & is a pretty fantastic baby now who just loves being part of our family. The feelings are mutual kid!

2 Months

Our sweet baby boy is 2 months old and quite the solid little guy! He was 14 pounds, 4 ounces at his 2 month appointment & 24 1/4 inches long. (Measuring slightly bigger than Spencer at this age.) We will just call him "healthy".  And I love "healthy" babies. They eat well, sleep well, are durable (especially important when you have two siblings who drag you around playing power rangers with you) & are generally happy babies. The downside is that he's growing up even faster than the other two did (if that's even possible). He just started wearing 6 month clothes, size 2 diapers, & people always guess that's he's older than he is. This is also because of how strong he is-holding his head up all the time & supporting his body weight on his legs for a few seconds. He really is a great baby and is super laid back. He let's others hold him & is a snuggler, big time. Everyone talks about how much he looks like his brother & so far, their personalities are pretty similar too, but Slade really enjoys being held more & wants to be rocked to sleep. And I am just fine with that! He usually wakes up once in the night to eat & then wakes up around 5 or 6 & just wants to be unswaddled & stretch & then goes back to sleep stretched out in between us. I love those early hours in the morning when the bigs come in super excited to see their baby brother & cuddle with him & give him kisses. He loves to be carried in my wrap & take his naps there if we are on the go. At home he loves his swing and rock & play. He is making great eye contact now & smiling a lot. On Valentine's Day he looked at my & smiled a big smile right at me for the first time. He's cooing & talking a lot & that happens a lot more when we are making eye contact as if he is talking to us. He loves being the baby & included in play. Savannah loves to build pillow houses around him & Spencer loves to position him to watch as he jumps off the bed in his Batman costumes saying "Baby Slade, watch me!" He is usually content in his rock & play to sit & watch me work in the kitchen too. We are all pretty smitten with our little guy & so thankful to have him!
