Main Street Arts Festival

I love Main St. & have gone most every year for as far back as I can remember. Venders & artists come from all over to display & sell their paintings, jewelry & pretty much every kind of "art" you can imagine. Bands play on a few different stages & it is a very cultural event. Truth be told...we go solely for the junk food! And this year was no exception! Miss Savannah found some new favorite foods : )

I think she ate more of Jamey's turkey leg than he got to.
Mmmm...meat on the bone...my mom doesn't cook this kinda stuff for me!

Twister fried potato curls.
We had to keep an eye on her to keep her from eating the ones that fell on the ground.
And a healthier choice: a fruit smoothie.
So fun! We love downtown Ft. Worth!

Happy 30th JMat!

One of my besties just turned 30 & we had a Prohibition themed party to celebrate, complete with flappers & the mafia. Jessica made feather head pieces for the girls to wear, there were French 75 cocktails, a bathtub full of beer, and a chocolate fountain. So fun!
I love this girl!

Our "group"
The fellas.
The girls.

The after-party with cigars on the back porch.

And here's sleepy-head wearing my feather head band the next morning.

18 Months

Our little lady is 1 1/2 years old! I can't believe how much she's changed just in these last 6 months! She is running everywhere; I don't think "walk" is in her vocabulary. She loves to dance & loves to climb. Twice, I have found her standing on our computer desk in the last month-yikes! She loves being outside & cries when we have to come in. We try to go to our park most days or work out in our garden. At the park she goes down the tallest slide & insists on picking up pieces of bark that have escaped to the grass & putting them back in the play area (a perfectionist maybe?) When we work in the yard she loves to dig with the shovel & carry around the watering can. She is super girly & loves wearing bonnets, sunglasses, barrettes, necklaces & shoes & hates getting dirty. If she gets stuff on her hands she wants them washed off. She loves bath time & splashing in the water (can't wait to really swim this summer!) Her mouth is a full house with 24 teeth & she loves to brush them! Her favorite foods are cheese, raviolli, beans, guacamole, yogurt, edamame, corn, pretzels, blackberries, bananas, blueberries, & spaghetti & meatballs. She talks non-stop & some of her words are: more, no, hi/hello, bye-bye, yummy, mommy, daddy, shoes, uh-oh, puppy, kitty, Ju Ju (what we call Juliette), baby (she calls anything small a baby...ants, for instance, & I think it's too cute to correct yet : ), bubble & juice. We are constantly blown away by the things she understand us say. If we say "bath" she runs to the bathroom & starts stripping or "park" she grabs her sunglasses & runs to the front door. The other day we were getting ready to go outside & I told her I still had to put my shoes on & she went into our bedroom & brought me tennis shoes & socks!! Her favorite show is Yo Gabba Gabba & insists on sitting in her princess chair to watch it. And she loves dancing with the kids on the show. She goes to sleep by herself now & sleep 10 hrs at night, a 1 hr morning nap & a 1-2 hr afternoon nap. At her 18 month checkup she weighed 21 pounds, 7 ounces (11%), & was 31 1/2 inches (44%). She loves to pretend like she's talking on the phone (or calculator, or remote control or anything with buttons). She knows where her eyes, nose, mouth & belly button are. She loves to read books, color & play with stickers. She is also into animals & animal sounds. When I get out the milk, she says "moo" b/c there is a picture of a cow on the carton. We are loving every second with our Miss Personality! And here are a few videos from the last few weeks!

Talking on the cell phone. I love her "hello".

Dallas Arboretum

We spent a beautiful Wednesday looking at the spring flowers at the Dallas Arboretum.

She LOVES to smell flowers.

She matched the poppies.

Being 18 months old, there is no such thing as posing for pictures. We basically chase her around praying for a good one or two!

She would just race up & down the isles of pretty flowers.

And thanks to my parents for letting us get in with their garden passes & thanks to photographer Corey for the ones he took of all 3 of us!
Ready to sleep the whole way home.

Fish Fry by the Pool

We went to the Shaws for a fish fry, unveiling of their new pool & to spend time with family we hadn't seen in a long time. Such a great afternoon!
Nanna & DadDad with their 8 great-grandkids.
Savannah & Dylan-just one month different in age.
Loving time with her Uncle Adam!

We ate are delicious catfish poolside.
And then some of the brave kids swam in the pool...burrr!
Great-grandbaby #9 in the middle belly.
And this little one was WORN OUT!
Earlier that morning J.O. had taken her out to feed the cows.
Cows are her favorite!

Did someone say PARK?

This was taken one night as we were about to put her to bed-she's in her pjs. I mentioned the P word (which we have to spell out now) & she ran to grab her sunglasses & then headed to the door. I love that enthusiasm!
