Fall at the Arboretum

8 Months

Sweet Slade, my forever baby, and yet growing all the time! He has 6 teeth now & knows how to use them! He's really enjoying bits of table food with the fam. And that's in addition to a jar of baby food at each meal. Not only is he crawling, but he's pulling up on everything & very strong. He is saying mama now : ) and I'm pretty sure he knows what it means! I'm also pretty sure that word is about to get overused! He's ticklish, like painfully ticklish. Like he almost gets angry when you tickle his feet. Like his toenails are long talons because he won't let me hold his feet long enough to trim his nails...not sure what to do about that. But he does enjoy being included in Tickle Monster at night. He rocked his first real vacation. 13 hour car ride, condo, beach, 13 hour car ride home. And he really did enjoy the ocean! Sweet beach baby. He's starting to adjust to life again without sister during the day & his brother is really stepping up. Spence is always playing with him, checking on him & giving him hugs & kisses. We love you little guy!

7 Months

Happiest baby ever. I mean lots of babies are happy, but our baby is actually the happiest baby ever. Really. And this week I had the sweetest complement from a grandpa at McAlister's. He waved me over to tell me how beautiful Slade is & how he's (obviously) the happiest baby ever. Then he said "You must be a really great mom to have such a happy baby." Most of the credit should in fact go to his fantastic siblings, but man, I needed that : ) Besides being the happiest baby, Slade has actually had an eventful month. First, he has gained 3 teeth which puts the total at 5. Oh that sweet smile with the tiny teeth!! Next, he has really caught on to baby food! He's downing most of a jar at each meal (which is way sooner than my other babies). Also, he's saying DaDa a lot, not 100% sure he knows what it means, but he says it : ) Lastly, he started crawling. And I don't mean like army crawling or scooting around. I mean, in one weeks time he went to legitimately crawling, like fast! This means vacuuming often is my current job. It's super cute though & he kinda keeps his left leg a little curled up underneath himself a bit. While eating & moving are going quite well, he's being toot when it comes to napping. He's currently just taking 2 or 3 30 min naps a day which is insanely ridiculous & better not last long. Aside from not taking good naps, he's such a wonderful little guy & I think we will keep him : )
