We make chocolate chip pancakes usually once every weekend because they are one of Savannah's favorites. Bran has gotten to be quite the artist with his pancakes & making them into whatever Savannah has requested has become their game. My game is to think of a ridiculous request for her to make : ) This is Rapunzel...pretty good, huh?
Savannah's interpretation of "Spencer is taking a nap. Please don't wake him." I came in to find her in bed with him & squeezing him. Well, at least she loves him!
I love making cookies with this cutie! I knew she knew her way around a kitchen when I got out play dough for her & she asked for a rolling pin & cookie cutters : ) She probably knows more about cooking than most of my friends : ) This girl can successfully crack eggs too!
Such a sweet little man! And oh how fun 2 months is! He is cooing, talking & smiling at us! We all three just sit around & see who can make him smile & talk the most. It never seems to get old! Life is pretty easy for this guy: sleep, eat & chill. He is such an easy going child; not much seems to upset him (other than having an empty belly or full diaper : ) He is a drool-monster, but doesn't care. He still loves being swaddled. He loves hearing his daddy & mommy's voices & will look around for us with a smile. He loves riding in my wrap & just buries his head down in it to sleep. He is growing like a weed & fills our his 6 month clothes. His 2 month doctor appointment was a week early, but even then he was 13 lbs, 8 oz (90%) & 24 inches (95%) We tend to forget he's a newborn because he's such a big boy : ) Can't wait for this warm weather to stay so that we can show off his chubby legs with just a onesie! Spencer, you have stolen all three of our hearts!
We hoped & prayed that Savannah would adjust well to having a new baby brother. We had heard all these stories about older siblings acting act, being jealous or even hating the new addition. She was so excited to be having a baby brother that we didn't think that would be the case with her. But we still new it might be a difficult transition. No. She absolutely adores Spencer. She wants to hold him. She loves to hold his hand & kiss his face. She loves to make him smile & laugh. She wants to help change his diapers. She doesn't get mad at him for crying or being needy. She waits patiently when he's eating or being changed. She understands that he is just a baby & doesn't mean to pull her hair. She calls him all sorts of pet names & was the first to call him Spence. She loves to show him off to her friends. She gets so proud of him for doing things like rolling over or even burping! She is so completely in love with her brother. I know they will go through times when they don't like each other, but we are loving every minute of their sweet love for each other right now. Last week she told us that when Spencer gets older, they are going to get married & dance together-love it! She is seriously the best big sister ever. I don't think that she has gotten mad at him once. We are so proud of her maturity & patience with him. If you can believe it, she even loves him more than sprinkes : )
