Savannah's legs are finally long enough to touch the floor in her walker! She smiles & is so proud of herself for getting around in it!

First Teeth

Way back in December, we were positive that little one had teeth coming in. She drooled a lot, chewed on everything & was really fussy. And we swore we could feel them. Looking back, those were just symptoms of being a baby : ) So, I hesitated saying she was teething this time until the teeth were IN. Well, they are IN. Two in the bottom front. She continues to chew on everything (as shown above) & hasn't slept well the past couple of weeks. I think there are distractions during the day & so the pain is worse at night. I also think the fact that she has somehow ended up with shark teeth (seriously...can't believe how sharp they are!) hasn't helped : )

New Water Toy

We got a new water toy for Savannah...the pink hippo. We figured she loved the water so much-why wouldn't she love a floatie?

We were wrong...she would much rather be held! : )

She's getting really good at being dunked!

We let her sit in the grass for maybe 2 minutes-bad parenting on our behalf b/c she ended up with bites all over with little legs...sorry honey!

And we decided it would be a good chance to let her feed herself since she was in a bathing suit & near a pool : )

Pretty sure she got none of it in her mouth. Check out the spoonful behind her ear!

My Box

I emptied a box in the kitchen the other day & turned around to see little one walking & pushing it around like a shopping cart. She's ready to go shopping with her mommy!

Swimming With My Great Grandma

My grandma & Carl have moved to a new house at a fancy retirement neighborhood. Their place is really nice, they have classes like line-dancing that grandma goes to & they have a pool! Savh & I went with her to the pool last week & had a great time. Then we went out for a pizza lunch-thanks grandma! Savannah got to play with Carl too-she loves his watch!

Reasons Why My Daddy is the Greatest:

1) He's taller than the other daddies & holds me up high where I can see over other babies.

2) He wrote a song for me called "PJ Time" & sings it for me every night to make me smile while getting ready for bed.

3) He works extra hard so that I don't have to go to daycare & Mommy can stay home with me.

4) He figured out how to bounce/swing me to sleep when no one else could.

5) He takes me to lots of concerts & sports games, even though I'm just a baby.

6) He knows exactly where to tickle me.

7) He has prayed daily for me since before I was even born. Daddy, you are setting the example for me of the kind of man I want to marry.

Kristin's Big 3-0

My friend Kristin had a big birthday bash this last weekend. We are friends from Bible study & so lots of my Tuesday night girlies were at the party. Here are those beautiful women! JMat, Brandy, Sarah, Kristin (holding Savh on her baby bump), Andrea & Lindsay.

Brandy's little boy, Henry is a doll! But, he tried to give Savannah some lovin' & she pushed him away. I think Bran was proud & I sure hope the 'no-kisses-from-boys-phase' lasts a long time! But Savh, little Henry would not be a bad choice : )

Summer Spectacular

Last week was summer spectacular at our church. It was the 4th one for Bran & I to work & Savannah's first! We taught 2nd grade arts & crafts & Savh went to the nursery. Here's our little family in our matching Elijah t-shirts (& onesie : )

Winn Family Reunion

Every year since I can remember all of my dad's family gets together one weekend in the summer & goes somewhere to swim, eat, play games & share the weekend together. This year we decided to keep it local at Mike & Becky's & then at my parents.

Savannah & Landon

My good friend Lara that I've known since kindergarten had a sweet baby boy on May 30th. I was so lucky & got to be in the delivery room when he was born! Here is Savannah meeting Landon. What a cutie he is!!

8 Months

No question we have a summer baby on our hands! We are having such a blast & summer has only begun! This little one loves walks, swinging on the porch swing & at the park, swimming, & just being outside. Her crawling is insane these days & she can even move rooms without us seeing if we aren't careful. She is so cute b/c she'll just follow us around to where ever we walk. She is standing up holding the coffee table & anything within reach with ease. I'm surprised her little legs don't get tired with the way she loves to stand up. Her newest face is a lizard...she quickly sticks her tongue out & pulls it back in like a lizard-not sure where she picked that up! She also likes to make an Indian call with her hand over her mouth (I think that's Bran's favorite.) Her word of choice is "mama". She's been saying it for over a month, but we are now confident that she knows what it means! She says "dada" quite a bit too : ) Really, she loves to talk in general & some days will jabber from sun-up to sun-down! She is still not a huge fan of food. There isn't a baby food that she hasn't liked some, but she is definitely picky on when she wants to eat. She will take a very hesitant taste before opening up wide for a bite. She does like juice, but is totally over cereal. And I'm the only one she will take a bottle from...that defeats the purpose sweetheart! Changing her diaper has become quite a task. She will not stay still & squirms all over & tries to flip over. She is consistently going to bed between 9 & 10 & sleeping until about 7:30. And aside for some busy days when we have been on the go, she has taken pretty good naps this past month. We love our little cabbage patch baby & can't believe it's been 2/3 of a year!

Spray Park

We have a spray park in our neighborhood right by the duckpond. It is so wonderful for little kids. If you don't know what a spray park is, think lots of sprinklers! Savannah still likes the pool better (the spraying can kinda surprise her), but I'm sure when she can run around in the sprinklers herself, she will love it!
