Memorial Day

On Memorial Day we went to my parents for a cook-out & for Savannah's first swim in the big pool!

These Girls Love Gavin DeGraw

Last Sunday night we went to a festival in McKinney to see my all-time favorite...Gavin DeGraw. Savannah has heard him live before, but not seen him (concert while I was prego).

We had to park & walk a while.

Everyone was camped out with lawn chairs or blankets.

There were college girls behind us that Savannah made friends with. They all wanted to dance with her!

There were fireworks when the concert was over. Can't wait to show her the REAL ones on 4th of July!

This One's For You Corey!!

So, there is this huge rat/creature that lives in the pond by our house. It's seriously huge! The body is probably a foot & a half & the tail is an additional foot. We have no idea what it is. It kinda looks like a beaver or otter, but has this disgusting long rat tail. We call it the R.O.U.S. for those Princess Bride lovers. (Rodent of unusual size.) I've told Corey about it & he doesn't believe me & so I've been taking my flip with me every day when we walk to the duck pond. These videos are for you Corey!

She seriously cracks me up when we swing at the park. She makes this face every time I push her feet. Such a happy girl!!

Savannah's First Trip to the Zoo

Bran took off last Wednesday so that we could take Savannah to the Ft. Worth Zoo. I guess I'm partial because I grew up going there, but I think it's the best zoo in the U.S. (& I've been to the San Diego Zoo). The zoo is one of my favorite places ever & I've been looking forward to getting a zoo season pass & taking my little ones since I can remember. Savannah definitely didn't fully appreciate it, but she did have a great time. Such a great family day!

Savannah's First Swim

Savannah absolutely LOVES bath time & so we knew she was going to love the pool. I was actually about her age when I started swimming lessons. Bran blew up the pool that I would lay in last summer-hey, I was pregnant & it was hot! Although it was super-hot outside Sunday, the water was really cold. Oh well-it was just the first time of many to squeeze her into a bikini & hit the pool this summer! (Does she remind anyone else of Elton John here?)

Botanic Gardens

We spent Sunday afternoon at the Botanic Gardens in Ft. Worth. Hot, but so relaxing!
